INTRODUCTION It is reported that tens of thousands of firefighter injuries occur in the line of duty every year as firefighters are the first responders to suppress unwanted fires and rescue victims.The role of protective clothing and other personal protective equipment made of heat and flame resistant textiles is fundamental for the firefighters safety.In order to develop advanced protective ensembles and equipment for emergency responders,test methods for evaluating the ability of personal protective systems are required by research institutions and companies.
