  甜菜坏死黄脉病毒(Beet necrotic yellow vein virus,BNYVV)是甜菜丛根病的病原,由4-5条+ssRNA组成,其中RNA3编码的p25蛋白是BNYVV在甜菜上的关键致病因子,参与病毒在根中的复制与转移,与病毒侵染后的"毛根"症状相关.当接种毒源中含有野生型RNA3时,就会出现典型的丛根症状,并导致甜菜根重降低95%,病毒浓度提高10-20倍,而当接种毒源中含有RNA3的自然缺失突变体(p25的C端缺失94或121个氨基酸)或者不含有RNA3时,就没有丛根症状发生,仅造成轻微损失(Koenig et al.,1991;Tamada et al.,1999).另外p25蛋白67 ~ 70位氨基酸(644~655 nt)组成与其致病力密切相关,抗性突破能力(以68位或67与68位氨基酸标示)依次为F<Y<C=L=H<Q<VC (Chibaetal.,2011).
