Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) are two key mediators of angiogenesis.They have the synergistic effects on angiogenesis and maturation of blood vessels.Both of bFGF and VEGF can promote tumor angiogenesis and tumor cells proliferation,resulting in solid tumor growth,progression and metastasis.It has been demonstrated that one ofbFGF and VEGF increasing can induce the others production to promote angiogenesis.So,the best way to inhibit tumor angiogenesis is to block them at the same time.Four kinds ofpeptides of the bFGF and VEGF epitope were obtained by phage display and computer simulating technique,which can inhibit the proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) and B16 melanoma cell in vitro.And the peptides can also inhibit HUVECs migration.
