　　B- and T-lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA) negatively regulates immune responses; however,it remains unknown the expression profile and functional role of BTLA in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Here,we enrolled 150 HCC patients,33 liver cirrhosis (LC) patients,and 45 healthy individuals in this study.We found that BTLA expression was progressively up-regulated on cytotoxic CD8+ T cells in peripheral blood and correlated with disease progression in HCC patients.
