  The aim of the construction control simulation for a cable-stayed bridge is to ensure that the specific design geometrical configuration of this bridge will be satisfied after its construction.This paper presents a numerical simulation and control technique,considering geometrical nonlinear effects,to obtain the erection configuration of cable-stayed bridges.A nonlinear finite element method is applied in the simulation of construction by activating and deactivating elements,adding and removing loads,and changing boundary conditions at the appropriate construction stages.Nonlinear analysis is performed by using the updated Lagrangian formulation which is derived with respect to the current configuration.
