The red deer Cervus elaphus alxaicus is an endemic species in China,distributed in the central region of Helan Mountain.Seasonal habitat selection of C.e.alxaicus was studied from December 2007 to December 2008.Surveys on the feeding and bedding habitats were mainly conducted by observation of fresh signs of their presence such as bedding,foraging signs and feces,assisted by direct observation of their activities.
