The aim of our study was to observe whether ALDH2 is expressed in cardiac fibroblasts and investigate the effect of activation of ALDH2 on myocardial fibrosis when cardiac fibroblasts was induced by high concentration of glucose.Methods: Cultured neonatal rat cardiac fibroblasts were randomly divided into 4 groups: normal control group(5.5 mmol/L glucose),Alda-1(the agonist of ALDH2,20 μmol/L)group,high glucose group(30 mmol/L glucose)and high glucose+Alda-1 group.
