Phosphorus (P) is an essential macronutrient for plants.Because of the low availability of phosphate (Pi) absorbed directly by plant roots in soil, plants have evolved many adaptive responses.Recently the proteins carrying the SPX(Syg 1/Pho81/Xpr1) domain were showed to be involved in Pi signaling.
