　　At present, we understand that much of the morbidity associated with traumatic brain injury is linked to the occurrence of diffuse axonal injury and microvascular dysfunction/damage.The majority of this in formation has been gleaned through the use of experimental animal models and postmortem human analysis, with modem imaging providing more dynamic information in patients.
