In drought temperate forest,seedling recruitment is highly relying on seed burial by native animal dispersers.In the meanwhile animals always take measures to impede seed germination.Aiming to understand the strategical balance between seed germination and animals anti-germination,we investigated the processing on germinated acorns of Cork oak(Quercus variabilis)by rodents and the consequential development of processed acorns in Mt.Taihangshan area of Jiyuan,Henan,China.
