LapB from Legionella pneumophila is a type Ⅱ-dependent secreted lysine and arginine aminopeptidase which catalyzes the removal of N-terminal amino acid residues from peptides and proteins. It plays a critical role in the catabolism of exogenous peptides, the initial and final steps of protein turnover and the repression of transcription.
