Neurocardiogenic syncope: Presentation, clinical management and prognosis Syncope is defined as transient, self limited, loss of consciousness and postural tone. The most common type is neuroeardiogenic syncope which is characterized by arterial vasodilatation with or without bradycardia as a result of failure of the autonomic nervous system to retain the control of blood pressure and heart rate.Multiple factors exogenous and endogenous, "central" and "peripheral" participate and interact with the neurocardiovascular system and through the brainstem regulate blood pressure and heart.Clinical management includes counseling-training, less frequently pharmacotherapy and rarely interventional therapies.Prognosis in general is good and irrelative to the type of therapy applied.
