Objective: To determine parameters of the frontal power of executive integration Method: Review of basal neurological and neuroeconomic fMRI trials on Frontal integration from a neurocybernetic point of view focusing client-server-integrator-relationships.Case study of applying the resulting neuroeconomic model in integrated homecare.Results: The Power of Concentration (C) is a quadripartite executive centered in the Frontal lobes which integrates Limbic and Neocortical systems: (1) The Orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) receives emotional input from the Mesolimbic Dopamine System (L(x)).L(x) is an autonomic reward-seeking function which downward serves the brain stem client (x) with homeostatic feedback coordinated by Hypothalamus.Upward, the Anterior Cingulate (Paleocortex)/Insula within L(x) is a primary center of consciousness served by Neocortex.L(x) is indicated by the level of sympathetic activity (Amygdala) as measured by electrodermal activity.(2) The dorsolateral prefrontal Cortex (dlPFC) identified by y-waves processes conflicting signals arising from L(x) served by semantic recollection from the Temporal lobe (R).R is based on episodic Hippocampal memories.R is a qualitative parameter indicated by the sensitivity of semantic processing and identified by Φ-waves.(3) The ventromedial prefrontal Cortex (vmPFC) centers our cognitive function (c) which controls both cognitive prediction (R*c) and emotions (L(x)/c) to minimize prediction error / maximize utility.c is identified by an α-band event-related potential.(4) The Frontopolar Cortex (FPC) serves c with a pending memory of our long term goal.(5) An intuitive visuospatial Parietal sketchpad integrates mismatched Occipital memories by spontaneous AHAexperiences (ε) and serves the dlPFC, too.δ represents intuition as a stochastic knowledge factor.Based on the findings (1-5) the dynamics of frontal integration is described by the following neuroeconomic model: C =R*c2/L(x) + ε → 1 C>1 represents typical extroverted males suppressing emotions.C<1 represents typical females ruled by conscientiousness.C=1 is a state of open-ended rationality facilitating the best possible integration of emotions (L(x)) and knowledge Discussion: The systemic parameters of C (L, c and R) are object to improvement by simple activities as exercise, relaxation procedures and visualization.Training the determinants of C opens a long-term option to counterbalance stress and even improve mental flexibility/health by cost-effective ADL-interventions.In short term this may apply to management training, especially.
