The seasonal over-growth of Synedrasp.in the rivers and reservoirs in China was reported to have caused serious problems with short filter runs,even complete clogging of filters,at drinking water treatment plants.In the present study,we investigated the effectiveness on removal of Synedrasp.by adding flocculant aids(Poly-dimethyl Diallyl Ammonium Chloride(HCA),powderedactivated carbon(PAC),clay,and sodium alginate)and pre-oxidants(ClO2,NaClO,and KMnO4)under the coagulation setting of 2 mg/L of polyaluminium chloride and 6 mg/L of lime solution.
