Olefins have the largest percentage in modern chemical and petrochemical industry.Traditional separation methods are time consuming and costly.This provides strong incentives for novel inexpensive and efficient separation approaches.In 2001,Wang and Stiefel proposed a selectively,reversible,electrochemically controlled cycle for olefin binding and release in order to realize olefin separation and purification[1].And the mechanism of formation of interligand product through a dimetallic complex was explained by Dang and co-workers with new kinetic and computational studies [2].However,the research of Fe bis(dithiolene)is rare.In 2007,Yu and co-workers observed the reversible binding of Ph3P to [Fe(S2C2R2)2]2 0 to form the [Fe(Ph3P)(S2C2R2)2] through a [Fe(S2C2R2)2]2 2-(→)2[Fe(S2C2R2)2]-solution equilibrium [3].Frontier Molecular Orbitals for different Fe analogous may result in different binding sites for olefins(Scheme1).
