During the past decades, graphene oxide(GO)-based adsorbents have attracted much attention in dye contaminant due to their excellent adsorption performance. In this work, superlastic adsorbent sponges were developed based on GO cross-linked with Polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS).The porous PDMS-GO adsorbent sponge was fabricated by using citric acid monohydrate as sacrificial template. The PDMS-GO adsorbent was directly transferred into oil such as hexane without pretreatment.Oil contaminant could easily penetrate into the adsorbent in a few minutes because of the hydrophobic properties of the adsorbent, which speeded up the contact between the adsorbent and the dye and shortened the adsorption time.A quite significant adsorption performance could be achieved in an hour. Moreover,we also found adsorption capacity varied with the solubility of graphene oxide. The PDMS-GO adsorbent could be used for the removal of oily dye, such as Nile red.
