　　Surfaces play an important role and surface functionalities are needed for several of todays technical problems.Approximately 10 million species life on our planet and plants and animals interact via their surfaces with their environment.Biological surfaces bear an almost endless diversity of structures,chemistry,and functionalities.Biological surfaces are perfectly adapted to their various environmental conditions.Their functionalities range from superhydrophilic to superhydrophobic surfaces,which play a crucial role.
