Study on the Applied Linguistics and the Foreign Language Teaching

　　As one of the emerging disciplines, the applied linguistics not only touches upon a very wider range of knowledge.In the mean time, however, the contents which are contained within the field of the applied linguistics are quite multifarious and disorderly at the present time.However, more importantly, within the field of foreign language teaching, the application of the linguistics not only has provided a very dear teaching direction for the foreign language teaching and has given the guarantees for the teaching quality of the teachers at the same time.For this reason, the application of the linguistics exerts a highly very important role in the foreign language teaching.Therefore, in this paper, in accordance with the relationship between the applied linguistics and the foreign language teaching, a discussion and study will be given by the author, as shown in the following.
