Several plasma technologies for air pollution control have been developed in KIMM (Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials) for the last two decade, which are plasma assisted burners for thermal management of DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) reactors in diesel vehicles and marine ships, thermal and non-thermal plasma reactors for treating process gases emitted from semiconductor manufacturing process. Some of these technologies are now available in markets, and some of the other technologies are under developing for commercial applications.
