Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2DE) was a standard top-down separation method of proteomics.The principle of 2DE was based on the difference of protein isoelectric point in the first dimension of isoelectric focusing (IEF) and the molecular weight in the second dimension of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE).
