@@ Epidural volume extension is a modification of the epidural technique, the level of block is increased by a big volume of local anesthetic administered through the epidural catheter, the previous reports showed a lack of any effective intrathecal dose of single dose epidural anaesthesia in labor, this trial was conducted in parturients and because of the differences in intrathecal drug spread and specific requirements of obstetric patients, the results may not be applicable to noobstetric patients.
