Effects of Interface Wettability and Fluid Property on Poiseuille Flows in Three-dimensional Nanocha

  The fabrication and utilization of micro-fluidic chips require deep insights into nanofluidics.In spite of the numerical theoretical research on relationship of interface wettability and slip length,the studies on quantitative relationship and the fluid property itself are rarely discussed.Based on the method of molecular dynamics,the effects of interface wettability and fluid properties on nanoflow characteristics also solid-liquid interface slip length are demonstrated through modulating the parameters of Lennard-Jones (L-J) potentials those describing the interfacial wettability of Poiseuille flow in nanochannel.The simulation results manifest that different potential interaction parameters can clearly affect the flow pattern in nanochannel behaving great changes in density and velocity profiles.It is observed that low energy parameters and large distance parameters of L-J potential interactions between solid and liquid atoms results in hydrophobic interfaces and improves the boundary slip on the interface and the velocity in the channel.The similar results can be found as the potential function parameters between liquid atoms vary,the density and velocity curves can dramatically deviate from normal distribution as distance parameters of liquid atoms vary too much,while the slip phenomenon behaves nearly no change with the energy parameters between liquids,showing almost the same velocity slip.Furthermore,the dependence of slip length on potential function parameters is predicted through data fitting and the relationship is established in equation.It can be concluded that the slip length on the interface exponentially changes with potential parameters of wall-fluid,which could be useful for the design and simulation of future micro/nano-fluidic systems.
