Compound specific carbon isotope analysis has been widely used as a powerful tracer in many areas of natural science and offered a new approach for identifying compound sources and degradation pathways,as well as for quantifying the extent of transformation reaction,and it has been widely employed in gas geochemistry,environmental geochemistry and biogeochemistry.
