The taxonomic research and preliminary molecular phyogenetic analyses have been conducted for gobiid fishes as Mugilogobius generic group,which mainly inhabits the coastal and brackish regions of mainland China and Taiwan,including following five gobiid genera:Calamiana,Eugnathogobius,Hemigobius,Mugilogobius and Pseudogobius.
