Sifuvirtide,a fusion inhibitor against HIV,has 20-fold better inhibition activity than T-20.Sifuvirtide was rationally designed based on the structure of HIV gp41.The patent application in China has been approved,and patent applications in USA,EU,and Japan are pending.The preclinical studies were completed,and demonstrated that Sifuvirtide has excellent safety profile,and very strong inhibitory activity against HIV infection.The IND application has been filed to SFDA.According to the studies of pharmacokinetics,the half-life of Sifuvirtide in monkey is 8 hours while it is 3.8 hours for T-20 in human.
