Chemokine receptors are divided into four families that correspond to the 4 distinct subfamilies of chemokines they bind.They are involved mutiple cell responses, including the onset of a process known as chemotaxis.Several diseases have been found related to chemokine receptors,such as,CXCR4 and CCR5 can act as co-receptor in HIV infection.
