This paper focus on the effects of SO3 content to the formation of cement clinker, which have some magnesium and alkali, and exploring the optimal mixing ratio between C4A3$ and C3S.The formation of minerals in the clinker was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry (DSC-TG).Likewise,scanning electron microscope (SEM) and XRD were used to carry out the analysis of the micro-structural and hydration products. The alite-yeelimite cement clinker was made using heat treatment, yielding clinkers with C3S of 55~65% and C4A3$ of 3~5%.The balance of C3S and C4A3$ was obtained with an optimal compressive strength of the resulted clinker. The corresponding hydration mechanism of the clinker was also addressed in this paper to get some clue of the structural basis of the improved properties.
