  Acid-functionalized aromatic hydrocarbons have been studied intensively as proton exchange membranes (PEMs),due to their thermal and mechanical stabilities,their low cost,and their high proton conductivity.The performances of PEMs has close relationship with several characters such as main chain and/or side chain structures,degree of sulfonation,number and position of the acid groups,composition of hydrophilic and hydrophobic components,and membrane morphology.
