NLR, as a ratio of neutrophil to lymphocyte counts, is a clinically accessible and useful laboratory variable.Recent years, a serious of progress in the prognostic value of NLR are constantly emerging.An increased NLR was found to correlate well with the severity of disease and outcome.This article reviewed the advancement in the research of NLR, as independent predictors of survival in various clinical circumstances ranging from oncological patients to patients with cardiovascular diseases.
