China has been heavily dependent on dirty-burning coal to fuel its rapidly growing economy,which has given rise to threats of local environmental pollution and international climate change.Actually,China has been keenly aware of such threats and the need to diversify its energy base away from coal,which can be demonstrated by the ambitious targets set in Renewable Energy Law of 2006 and subsequent Medium and Long-Term Renewable Energy Plan.
