Electrocaloric effect in barium strontium titanate solid solutions

  Electrocaloric effect is a potential technology for solid state cooling,which has a huge advantage than traditional refr-igeration method especially in electronic industry.But many electrocaloric (EC) materials possess large EC effect only at high temperature,which limits the practical application.The barium strontium titanate (BST) is a functional material which has been widely researched,however,EC effect of which has not to be systematically investigated.In this work,we investigate the EC effect of BST solid solutions by phase field simulations.We expound the polarizations,excess entropy,adiabatic temperature change and pyroelectric coefficients under different electric fields.The results show that the compositions deeply influence the EC effect and BST solid solutions have a good EC performance.
