While most nanomedicine is playing important role in cancer therapy,the nanomaterial may pose a threat to the integrity of the vasculature system.It has been earlier reported that certain nanoparticles could induce endothelial leakiness(Nano EL),which might favour intravasation and extravasation of cancer cells,accelerating metastasis.In this study,we have synthesized monodispersed betaine derivative nanoparticles for drug delivery without the emergence of Nano EL.The size of nanoparticle is ca.20nm.The nanoparticles can get through the intercellular space without damage and access to the tumor subsequently.We show that intravenously injected betaine derivative nanoparticles have no effect on the integrity of endothelial cells membrane,thus preventing the intravasation and extravasation of cancer cells.Our findings provide a new path to inhibit Nano EL,which is of great significant in cancer therapy.
