The conventional filament winding process is primarily relying on the geodesics, semi-geodesics or planar winding patterns, which exhibit fewer degrees of design freedom.The use of these pattems cannot satisfy the conditions for both the manufacturability and the mechanical properties, and thus significantly confine the improvement of structural performance of composite pressure vessels.
