Fe (NO3)3 and tetrabutyl titanate were used as Fe and Ti source to Fe-TiO2 powder by sol-gel method.After the calcination of the gels at various temperatures (200-750℃) in oxygen under different temperature, these powder were immersed in sulfuric acid and the modified SO42/Fe-TiO2 photo catalysts were obtained.These Fe-TiO2 photo-catalysts were used in the reaction of photocatalytic degradation of safranine.Specific area of SO42-/Fe-TiO2 catalysts was examined with BET method.Based on BET analysis, surface area of these catalysts were affected by the content of Fe in the catalysts.The degradation rate of safranine reached the maximum value when the the content of Fe being 2.4 mol%.
