　　The thyroid hormone receptor alpha (TRα), a transcription factor which is essential for normal development, growth, and homeostasis, either activates or represses the expression of its target genes in response to thyroid hormone.Central to its activity is regulation of subcellular dynamics of the receptor.For many years, TRα was thought to reside exclusively in the nucleus.
