Objective:To provide the anatomical data of the atlas and axis for evaluating the feasibility of posterior screw fixation through the lateral mass of the atlas or via the posterior arch to the lateral mass.Materials and methods:With an electronic digital caliper and an attachable goniometer,fifty atlas and axis specimens of native adults,include thirty male and twenty female,were used to measure pertinent clinical data.
