  Discotic liquid crystals (DLCs) have showed self-organization behaviors and high charged carrier mobility as organic semiconductors.The discotic nematic materials have been commercially used as optical compensating films for widening view angles of liquid crystal display,and the discotic columnar materials have displayed great potential applications in the fields of organic field effect transistors (OFET),organic light emitting diodes (OLED),and organic photovoltaic solar cells (OPV).The DLC oligomers possess both the properties of the DLC monomers and polymers.
