Pulmonary hypertension(PH)is a progressive devastating disease characterized by excessive proliferation and abnormal migration of the pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells(PASMCs).The role of MicroRNA-214(miR-214) in PH has not been studied.We hypothesized that miR-214could play a role in the proliferation and migration of PASMCs.We first demonstrated that miR-214 was drastically upregulated in ratsPASMCs after 6 h of hypoxia (3％ 02) and remained high after 48 h of hypoxia.
