Technological innovations since the 1970s have enabled businesses across the world to trade efficiently and connect internationally through processes referred to collectively as globalization,and the potential for retail businesses to develop cheaper and increasingly more dynamic supply chains with producers in other international locations has been realised.Clothing retailers in particular have capitalised upon the opportunity to benefit from low labour and production costs,enabling increased profit margins and thus to help them to gain a competitive advantage in their domestic market.
