  The crude polysaccharide Len was extracted fromLentinula edodes fritbody.Lenl was optained after deprotein processing with Sevage method.The antioxidant properties and antimicrobial activities of Len and Lenl were compared,The results showed both Len and Lenl had the abilities of reduction,and they had the scavenging effects on O2-· and · OH,and the ability of Len was stronger than Lenl,They had also some antimicrobial activities on Bacillus subtilis,Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus.aureus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae,The MIC was in the rang of 0.625~2.Smg/ml.Len and Lenl had no effect on Rhizopus sp.and Aspergillus niger.
