2D alkylammonium lead iodide perovskites, (RNH3)2(CH3NH3)n-1PbnX3n+1, where R a alkyl or aromatic moiety, e.g., C4H9NH3+ (BA+) and C8H9NH3+ (PEA+), X is a halide ion, e.g., Cl-, Br-, I-; n is the number of the inorganic layers composed of in-plane corner-sharing PbX6 octahdra and sandwitched by two long organic chains_ENREF_8, have drawn wide attention of researchers recently due to good structural stability and superior materials for photovoltaic and photoelectronic applications, including tunable and efficient light emitting diodes (LEDs), nonlinear optical switches and white light-emitting devices.
