Genetic instability reflected as chromosomal rearrangements in terms of deletions, duplications and amplifications as studied by comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) as well as polyploidization are associated with increased malignancy potential and aggressiveness of the tumor.There is a strong connection between increased genetic instability and survival rates for the patients.Spread of metastasis to the lymph node s in breast cancer has been regarded as a negative prognostic factor when found at the operation of the patients.We have done for several decades analyzed breast tumors by nuclear DNA measurements (DNA-index and its coefficient of variation, CV), S-phase estimations,G2-phase, DNA values exceeding G2 (Ex-G2), Cyclin-A, Ki-67 and p53 mutation.
