  We derive quasi-optimal error bounds for implicit discretizations of a class of rate-independent evolution problems.No regularity assumptions on the exact solutions are made but involved load functionals are assumed to be twice continuously differentiable in time.Key ingredients in the analysis are the reformulation of the evolution problem as a subdifferential flow and precise estimates for corresponding implicit discretizations.
