We show that heat-powered multiatom or multilevel quantum amplifiers at steady-state always obey the Carnot bound on efficiency,but their power may be strongly enhanced by cooperative effects.Amplifiers powered by nonthermal and/or nonclassical reservoirs require separate consideration that distinguishes between energy and work gain.
