The electronic structures of heteromaterials,especially the electronic states in the region near the interfaces,play important roles in the applications of these materials in various fields,such as solar cells and electronics.The quantum-confinement effects of electrons in nonmaterials offer additional way to tune the electronic structures to achieve desirable applications.
