　　Examination of the spiral intestines of 14 stingrays, Dasyatis akajei off the coastal water of NingDe, FuJian Province, China resulted in the discovery of 13 specimens of Acanthobothrium ningdensis n.sp..Based on the criteria of Ghoshroy & Caira (2001), Acanthobothrium ningdensis n.sp.is a member of the Category 4 in which species are mainly characterized by a total length ≥15mm, ≥50 proglottids, ≥80 tests, with symmetrical ovary.
