A deoxypodophyllotoxin derivative (DPD) modified in the D-ring was synthesized and evaluated its anti-tumor activity in the HeLa cells.DPD showed anti-proliferative activity in a dose and time-dependant manner and less plasma membrane damage than etoposide using lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assay.
