the phenomenon of negative refraction of TM-polarized light was manifested theoretically according to solving the Maxwell equations in anisotropic metamaterials, the electrical permittivities of which have opposite sign parallel and perpendicular to its optical axis.All-angle negative refraction of energy flow was demonstrated by utilizing the hyperbolic dispersion relation of anisotropic metamaterials.Due to the only requirement of negative permittivity tensor in the normal direction, the relative simple configuration of anisotropic metamaterials was much easier to realize negative refraction at optical frequency region,in contrast to that of left-handed metamaterials.
