Energy-saving topic has attracted many interests in worldwide. For a building, over 50% of total energy consumption comes from two major parts, air-conditioning and lighting. In this study, a sunlight guide film with optical microstructure and integrated IR insulation layer can achieve day-lighting, anti-glare, and thermal insulation of window glass. The sunlight guide film can redirect sunlight toward rooms ceiling to enhance indoor illumination. The optical measurement results show that the average sunlight guiding efficiency higher than 40% at solar elevation angle between 40°~70° and the depth of guiding about 7 m can be realized by sunlight guiding microstructure.IR insulation layer is 15 nm silver sputtered on subwavelengthstructure. The silver layer can reflect the infrared so the indoor thermal load is reduced. The thicker silver layer increases the infrared reflectance, but decreases the transmittance in visible-region which reduces the indoor day-lighting illumination. To increase the transmittance in visible-region, the anti-reflection subwavelength structure, pitch is 330 nm and height is 125 nm, was introduced. The IR insulation layer results show that the average transmittance is 15.46% and reflectance is 75.64% in IR-region (780 nm~2200 nm).The IR-cut effect decreases 82.65% of transmittance and increase 6 times of reflectance in IR-region.The fabrication technique can be easily performed by using UV roll-to-roll imprinting technology with a micro/nano-structure mold made by ultra precision machining and laser interference lithography. It is potential to save energy consumption of air-conditioning and artificial light at one time.
