In this study,the applicability of high resolution quadrupole‥COrbitrap(Q‥COrbitrap)mass spectrometry for the simultaneous qualitative and quantitative analysis of illegal adulterated phosphodiesterase‥C5 inhibitors(PDE‥C5 inhibitors)and antidiabetics in herbal medicines and dietary supplements was investigated.The mass spectrometer was operated in full MS scan/dd‥CMS2(data‥Cdependent MS2)mode.The use of 70 000 FWHM mass resolution and narrow mass windows(5 p pm)co uld ef fectively improve the s electivity of the method,increasing the signal‥Cto‥Cnoise ratio for the analytes.For the a nalysis of P DE‥C5 inhibitors,the response showed good linear relationship with the a nalytes concentrations over wide ranges(e.g.,0.05-l0 ìg/g for sildenafil)with all the coefficient of determination.
